39th edition of the International Bromont: galloping towards success

Bromont, July 10, 2014 – As the International Bromont is opening its thirty-ninth edition today, July 10, the organizing committee anticipates a particularly successful edition featuring novelties for riders and visitors.

A more important FEI competition

“We are offering an additional international event”, indicated show Manager Roger Deslauriers, “therefore, for the FEI, the level of competition is more important”. A total of 6 FEI (Fédération Équestre Internationale) events will be presented during the last two weeks of the competition in July. “Once again this year, we have an excellent level of participation during our two weeks of international competition”, adds Roger Deslauriers. In fact, the organizing committee may have to refuse registrations over the coming days.

The Royal Canin Challenge returns

This event pairs a rider/horse and master/dog team. After the rider/horse duo completes its obstacle course, the master/dog completes an agility course. The best foursome becomes the Challenge champion. For the last four years, this event is a favorite of young and old!

The International Bromont online

A first this year, on the weekends of July 19 and 20, as well as July 26 and 27, 2014, International Bromont will webcast events taking place in its show jumping rings. For show Manager Roger Deslauriers, it is a trial he hopes is conclusive: “Evidently, we hope people will still come on the site since webcasting does not replace live participation on the show grounds, but we want to share the event and the sport with as wide an audience as possible. Therefore, we want this trial to be a real success: enabling everybody to see the competition and our main events on Saturdays and Sundays also contributes to putting the sport within everyone’s reach.” Some of the webcasted events will include the Hunter Derby (July 19), the Royal Canin Challenge (July 20 and 27), the FEI Grand Prix 1m60 (July 20), the Speed Derby (July 26), the Modified Grand Prix (July 26) and the Quebec Orignial World Cup qualifier (July 27).

Bromont to host the 2018 World Equestrian Games

Last June 9, the FEI unanimously announced the nomination of Bromont as the host city of the 2018 World Equestrian Games. As early as this fall, work will start on the Bromont Equestrian Olympic Park and, for the 2015 edition of the International Bromont, new offices and VIP lounges should be ready.
